Basketball Recap: Owyhee Has No Trouble Against Carlin

Owyhee's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Carlin Railroaders with a sharp 56-35 win. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 21 points or more this season.

When it comes to explaining why Carlin lost, don't look at Kylie Kennedy. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 48.6% of Carlin's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Jeffries, who put up three points and three blocks.

Owyhee is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.8 points. As for Carlin, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Coincidentally, Owyhee and Carlin will both be playing McDermitt the next time they take the court. Owyhee will host McDermitt at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while Carlin will host them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
