It was a good run, but the North Schuylkill Spartans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to Camp Hill 56-50. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as North Schuylkill came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 188th, while Camp Hill is ranked 664th).
North Schuylkill lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jack Keiter, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The contest was Keiter's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zane Zulkowski, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, North Schuylkill were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
North Schuylkill's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Camp Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 1-8.
North Schuylkill won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Belleville Mennonite at 4:30 p.m. on December 29th. Belleville Mennonite is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Camp Hill, they will be playing at home against East Pennsboro at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday. East Pennsboro has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
