RIPLEY, W. Va. - After swapping the lead two times,
South Charleston (W. Va.) took the lead for the win when they scored a touchdown in the second quarter, paving the way for victory over
Ripley (W. Va.) 42-20.
After taking the lead on a touchdown in the second quarter, the Black Eagles led 28-13 at the half.
South Charleston grew its lead to 22 points entering the fourth quarter. SC's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown pass by
Kentre Grier to
Kevin Forrest.
Grier was one of the big reasons the Black Eagles got the victory, as the sophomore threw four touchdowns.
The victory will ease some of the sting of South Charleston's close 7-6 loss to the Vikings last season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Ripley, which notched a 41-13 victory over Nitro in its previous outing.
