The Christian Academy kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell victim to a tough 21-3 defeat at the hands of Coventry Christian.
For Coventry Christian's part, Shayne Hartline made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hartline was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
