Spanish Fort is 8-2 against the Golden Bears since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. Spanish Fort pushed their score all the way to 59 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The match between them and Bryant wasn't particularly close, with Spanish Fort falling 76-59.
Meanwhile, Robertsdale entered their tilt with the Chieftains with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Robertsdale came out on top against the Chieftains by a score of 44-35 on Thursday.
Mallorie Rothe was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 20 points, 11 rebounds, and ten steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaunte Sanders, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Spanish Fort's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Robertsdale, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 15-12 record this season.
Spanish Fort was able to grind out a solid win over the Golden Bears in their previous meeting last Tuesday, winning 65-54. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Rothe, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds.
