Walkertown hasn't had much luck against McMichael recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wolfpack will square off against the Phoenix at 5:30 p.m. Walkertown's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so McMichael's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Last Tuesday, Walkertown didn't have quite enough to beat West Stokes and fell 4-3. The Wolfpack have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Macy Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Savannah Miller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, McMichael won against Bethany Community on Thursday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Phoenix came out on top against Uwharrie Charter Academy by a score of 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Phoenix.
Lindsay Redmon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Redmon was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ellie Southern, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Ava Harris also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
McMichael lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Uwharrie Charter Academy didn't launched any home runs.
Walkertown's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for McMichael, their record now sits at 15-3.
Walkertown might still be hurting after the 11-5 defeat they got from McMichael when the teams last played back in March. Can the Wolfpack avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
