Wayne and the Buffalos are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Wayne Badgers will head out on the road to square off against the Valley Buffalos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wayne has four straight victories, the Buffalos have four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Wednesday, Wayne earned a 61-52 win over the Tigers.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wayne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jake Batty, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. Batty has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Ryker Peterson was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Meanwhile, Valley was the victim of a tough 64-41 defeat at the hands of the Bobcats on Wednesday.
Wayne's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
Wayne was able to grind out a solid win over the Buffalos in their previous matchup back in January, winning 63-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wayne since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
