The Springwood Wildcats will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Bessemer Academy Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Alabama (Springwood is ranked 94th, while the Rebels are ranked 79th).
Last Friday, Springwood was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 54-53 to the Warriors.
Meanwhile, Bessemer Academy had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.5 points), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Friday. They came out on top against Fort Dale Academy by a score of 59-52.
Springwood's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Bessemer Academy, they pushed their record up to 21-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
Springwood came up short against the Rebels in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, falling 64-55. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bessemer Academy's Johnathan Winston, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.
