The Hiram Hornets put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Chapel Hill by a score of 52-40. Given Hiram's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Chapel Hill is ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Chapel Hill saw an underclassman step up: Emahni Chambliss scored 25 points along with 6 rebounds. Chambliss scored a full 62.5% of Chapel Hill's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryale Thomas, who scored 2 points along with 13 rebounds.
Hiram's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Chapel Hill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hiram will take on Paulding County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Paulding County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59 points per game. As for Chapel Hill, they will be playing at home against Alexander at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Alexander focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Saturday.
