Fort Lee is 1-0 against Kearny since October of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Fort Lee Bridgemen will head out on the road to face off against the Kearny Kardinals at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Fort Lee's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matches.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Fort Lee at home against Memorial as the squad secured a 45-6 victory. The result was nothing new for Fort Lee, who have now won three games by 39 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Lee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lenny Colon, who rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Colon is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Balbuena, who gained 102 total yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Kearny's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 56-0 loss at the hands of Dwight Morrow.
Fort Lee's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 4-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 Ferris and 2-5 Cliffside Park (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 24.9% over those games). Kearny has been struggling this season, as they've lost five of their first six matches, which leaves them at a 1-5 record this season.
Everything went Fort Lee's way against Kearny in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as Fort Lee made off with a 48-28 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fort Lee since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
