Palmetto extended the longest winning streak in 5A District 10 this week by beating Lakewood Ranch, 43-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Bayshore took down Cypress Lake 49-9 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Southeast's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Seminoles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Myles Braxton-Johnson has thrown for 551 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Jacob Sannon has 13 catches for 223 yards. Courtney Allen leads the league in rushing with 544 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when DeSoto County takes on Southeast. As it stands, the Bulldogs are in third, while the Seminoles are in second.
Palmetto made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 529 from 652. The advance stemmed from a 43-7 victory over the Mustangs last week.
