Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology is 0-3 against Yorktown since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology Colonials will head out on the road to face off against the Yorktown Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Wednesday, Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology ended up a good deal behind Mount Vernon and lost 52-37. Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kaiden Kerkulah, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Anjali Maddipatla was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Yorktown had to settle for a 44-42 defeat against Oakton last Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Yorktown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while Oakton is ranked 56th).
Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Yorktown, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-4.
Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology was taken down by Yorktown 47-20 in their previous meeting back in December of 2019. Can Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
