The Eureka Loggers will head out to take on the South Fork Cubs at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Eureka is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against University Prep by a score of 6-2 last Saturday.
Mackenze Wolff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Macy Secor, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Megan Secor was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
South Fork came out on top against Fort Bragg on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Cubs blew past the Timberwolves 12-2. The Cubs haven't had any issues with the Timberwolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Leila Coleman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Coleman was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Makenzie Brewer was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hailey Shepherd, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
South Fork always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Bragg only posted an OBP of .360.
Eureka's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for South Fork, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Eureka suffered a grim 18-2 defeat to South Fork in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Loggers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
