The Morris Redskins entered their tilt with the Wilmington Wildcats with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Morris simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Wildcats 67-38 at home. Given Morris' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Wildcats are ranked 555th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nikki Quigley, who scored seven points along with five rebounds. Cole Drown was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Morris pushed their record up to 19-9 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Wilmington, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-18.
Morris will be playing at home against the Huskers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wilmington, they will head out on the road to take on the Bulldogs at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Streator comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
