Wheaton-Warrenville South is 9-1 against Geneva since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Tigers will take on the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. Wheaton-Warrenville South's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Geneva's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Wheaton-Warrenville South is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Glenbard South on Saturday as they made off with a 17-9 victory. Considering the Tigers have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Presley Wright made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Becca Chaney was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eleanor Grout, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Wheaton-Warrenville South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Geneva was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against St. Charles North, falling 20-12.
Clara Lyons and Kat Cerwin did some serious damage despite the final result: Lyons went 1-for-5 with one home run and three RBI, while Cerwin went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Those RBI were Cerwin's first of the season. Megan O'Connor was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one run.
Wheaton-Warrenville South has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Geneva, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
Wheaton-Warrenville South took their victory against Geneva when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
