The Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets lost against the Victor Blue Devils back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Rush-Henrietta took a 61-42 bruising from Victor. While losing is never fun, Rush-Henrietta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Victor is ranked 35th).
Despite the loss, Rush-Henrietta still got an impressive performance from Graylin Strong, who scored 13 points. Avery Council was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Rush-Henrietta struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Rush-Henrietta has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Victor, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Rush-Henrietta won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mendon at 1:45 p.m. on January 13th. As for Victor, they will head out on the road to square off against Hilton at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hilton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Victor likes a good challenge.
