The Stebbins Indians's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 39-27 victory over Fairborn. Given Stebbins' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Fairborn is ranked 736th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Stebbins found their leader in underclassman Aubrey Fritz, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tori Kielbaso, who scored 12 points.
Stebbins has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Fairborn, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stebbins on the road again on Wednesday and play against Piqua at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Piqua is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Fairborn, they will head out on the road to face off against West Carrollton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in West Carrollton's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Fairborn has been banged up by 12 consecutive losses on the road.
