The Union Cougars will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle at 7:00 p.m. Union has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Union scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They managed a 60-56 win over South Summit. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, Juan Diego Catholic had to endure a 16-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 52-39 victory over Providence Hall on Thursday. That 13 point margin sets a new team best for Juan Diego Catholic this season.
Union's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-17. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Juan Diego Catholic, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-20.
Union didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Juan Diego Catholic in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, but they still walked away with a 44-38 win. Does Union have another victory up their sleeve, or will Juan Diego Catholic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
