Bosque has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Cottonwood Classical Prep Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bosque knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Cottonwood Classical Prep likes a good challenge.
In what's become a running theme this season, Bosque gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past East Mountain 57-25 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Bosque has posted against East Mountain since February 15, 2020.
Cooper Hautau was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds and six steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kyle Morris, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Cottonwood Classical Prep's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Valley 89-29. While losing is never fun, Cottonwood Classical Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Valley is ranked tenth).
Bosque's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Cottonwood Classical Prep, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Bosque beat Cottonwood Classical Prep 71-61 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bosque since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
