The Marion Center Stingers will head out on the road to face off against the Purchase Line Red Dragons at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Marion Center is hoping to put an end to a 13-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Wednesday, Marion Center came up short against United and fell 55-43. Marion Center has struggled against United recently, as their game on Wednesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Marion Center got a solid performance out of Evan Risinger, who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Risinger scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamden Rozier, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Purchase Line, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They took a serious blow against Cambria Heights on Wednesday, falling 68-33.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Stephen Perruso, who scored ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jakob Mountain, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Marion Center now has a losing record at 2-3. Purchase Line's record is now 0-6.
Marion Center ended up a good deal behind Purchase Line in their previous meeting back in January, losing 55-38. Thankfully for Marion Center, Braydon Albright (who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
