The La Quinta Blackhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 59-49 to Central. La Quinta was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.
Leading Central to victory were Jared Martin and Daimaggio Wyatt. Martin scored 18 points, while Wyatt scored 25 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Martin has scored at least 25% of Central's points. Kaleb Flores was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
La Quinta has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
La Quinta will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Palm Springs at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. Central and Granite Hills will face off at 3:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
