The Plainfield Quakers will venture away from home to challenge the Whiteland Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Plainfield's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Whiteland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Saturday, Plainfield beat Lebanon 5-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Quakers.

Ty White made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. White was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other pitching news, Corran McGill looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Zach Rhoden, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Drew White also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Whiteland). They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over Greenwood on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Like Plainfield, Whiteland also got a great game from a two-way player: Kayden Wilson. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Wilson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-5.
In other batting news, Whiteland got a massive performance out of Colton Shipp, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Peyton Dickens was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Plainfield's record now sits at 4-1. As for Whiteland, their record is now 3-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Plainfield has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Whiteland struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Plainfield came up short against Whiteland in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 9-6. Can the Quakers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
