Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Fulshear's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Fulshear unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 57-47 to the Strake Jesuit Fighting Crusaders. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 420th, while the Fighting Crusaders are ranked 140th).

When it comes to explaining why Fulshear lost, don't look at Toby Princewill. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten blocks. Princewill has been hot, having also posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. David Najeme was another key player, putting up seven points.

Fulshear's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-14. As for Strake Jesuit, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-9.

Fulshear will host George Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. George Ranch knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Fulshear likes a good challenge. As for Strake Jesuit, they will venture away from home to take on Alief Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
