The Avon Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 45-24 walloping at the hands of Westport. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Avon has scored all season.
Avon's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kylie Mallet, who scored nine points. Hanelie Cadet was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Avon's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Westport, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Avon will be playing in front of their home fans against Holbrook at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Westport, they will head out on the road to challenge Wareham at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
