Robinson is 0-10 against the Cadets since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Robinson Rockets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Connally Cadets at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Robinson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
Even though Robinson has not done well against the Cougars recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Robinson snuck past the Cougars with a 36-32 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Robinson.
It was another big night for Trevor Stephens, who scored 11 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Moreno, who scored six points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Connally unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 45-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of La Vega. While losing is never fun, Connally can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 480th, while the Pirates are ranked 185th).
Robinson's win bumped their record up to 14-16. As for Connally, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-14.
Things could have been worse for Robinson, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-48 loss to the Cadets in their previous matchup back in January.
