Meanwhile, Archbishop Mitty didn't have quite enough to beat Saint Francis two weeks ago and fell 3-1. The Monarchs haven't had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Kyleigh Mace spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .401. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Archbishop Mitty in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Fightin' Irish avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
