HURST, Texas - In spite of trailing
Bell (Hurst, Texas) 21 points,
Heritage (Colleyville, Texas) surged back to grab a 35-30 win over
Bell (Hurst, Texas) Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Ryan Newsome, the Raiders went into halftime with a 21-14 lead. The Panthers scored the winning points with a touchdown pass by
Cody Thomas to
Kaelin Deboskie that came in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring seven points in the third, Heritage still trailed by 3 points going into the fourth quarter. But 14 points in the fourth helped HHS pull out the victory.
Thomas was one of the big reasons the Colleyville school got the victory, as the senior threw five touchdowns.
Bryan James made a difference for Bell. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to seven on the year.
BHS came in surrendering 15.9 points per game this season. The Hurst school struggled against the Panthers' offense, which entered the game scoring 45.9 points per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 36-29 win for Heritage.
The loss comes after Bell defeated Nimitz 41-0 last week.
