The Barnstable Red Hawks will face off against Rising Tide at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
On Saturday, Barnstable came up short against Falmouth and fell 8-5. The Red Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Madison Flynn put in work no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Those three earned runs gave her a new career-low. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Charlotte Hadawar and Isabelle Hadawar stepped up to the plate in a big way. Charlotte went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Isabelle went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Those hits marked the first that Isabelle has got this season.
Meanwhile, Rising Tide was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. Everything went their way against Martha's Vineyard Regional as they made off with an 18-4 win. Rising Tide hasn't had any issues with Martha's Vineyard Regional recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Sarah Grossman was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Emily Melby, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Rising Tide lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since the start of last season.
Barnstable's loss dropped their record down to 1-3-1. As for Rising Tide, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
