The Round Lake Panthers are on the road again on Thursday to play the Larkin Royals at 4:30 p.m.
Last Saturday, Round Lake fell victim to a rough 15-7 defeat at the hands of Rolling Meadows.
Javier Rolon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Benjamin Bliem, who went 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs.
Even though they lost, Round Lake lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Larkin narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Dundee-Crown 5-4. The victory was just what Larkin needed coming off of a 10-0 loss in their prior game.
Larkin also got a great performance from Aden Mora as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Carter Novelli came in to relieve Mora and was airtight, giving up no runs, hits or walks in his one inning pitched.
At the plate, Moises Acosta was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 2-for-4.
Round Lake's defeat was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Larkin, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
