Luke Cuellar's Rushing Yards a New Career-High
Starting off the list is Thomas Jefferson's Luke Cuellar, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Thursday Cuellar rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 135 yards on only ten passes, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 68 yards.
With the victory, Thomas Jefferson broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4. They and Aurora Central are set to duel on Saturday.

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Thursday Zavious Chineth stepped things up a notch to give Northfield the 'W'. Chineth turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 93 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 16 yards and a touchdown.
Northfield's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. Chineth and Northfield will challenge Denver North at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
