Football Recap: Bishop Rosecrans Comes Up Short

Bishop Rosecrans and Conotton Valley squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Bishop Rosecrans had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Rockets, falling 78-46. On the bright side, the 46- point effort marked the Bishops' highest-scoring contest to date.

Conotton Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gavin Haney out in front who rushed for 194 yards and four TDs on only ten carries, and also picked up 79 receiving yards and one score. Haney really tore up the turf during one magnificent 91-yard run. Kaden Leggett was another key passer, throwing for 469 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 18.0 yards per attempt.

The loss snapped Bishop Rosecrans' winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-5 record. As for Conotton Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Bishop Rosecrans does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Conotton Valley, they will square off against Hillsdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' defense has only allowed 10.1 points per game this season, so the Rockets' offense will have their work cut out for them.
