The Wildwood Wildcats will look to defend their home court  on Friday against the Leesburg Yellow Jackets at 7:30  p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication,  both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
 Wildwood's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory  and fell  56-55 to Halifax Academy.
 Despite the  defeat, Wildwood saw an underclassman step up:  Zayden Garcia  scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Garcia has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Louis Brown, who  scored 19 points.
 Meanwhile,  Leesburg unfortunately witnessed the end of their  four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a   63-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tampa Catholic. Leesburg has not had much luck with Tampa Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
 Wildwood has  traveled a rocky road recently, as they've  lost eight of their last nine matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Leesburg, their loss  ended a three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 11-3.
 Wildwood was taken down by Leesburg 62-27 in their previous meeting  back in December of 2023. The  contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wildwood was down  39-15.
