Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles  on Saturday. Churubusco fell just short of Elkhart Christian Academy by a score of  2-1. Churubusco was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Elkhart Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in September of 2024.
 Kelsee Coil paced Churubusco's offense, picking up 11 kills. Coil got some help from  Alyssa Marks and her 11 assists.  Olivia Konger and  Ava Marks kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.
 Elkhart Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to  Kiara Trovatore, who  had 22 assists and six  digs. That's the most  assists  Trovatore has posted  over her last six  matches.  Myla Hanlon also deserves some recognition as  she  served her first  aces of the season.
This is the second loss in a row for Churubusco and  nudges their season record down to 4-11. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, the  win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-6.
 Coming up, Churubusco will take on Prairie Heights at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, they will challenge Goshen at 7:00  p.m.  on Monday.
