Foster Whisman was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Isaac Voight was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Shelby County is 2-1 when Voight posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise.
