Basketball Recap: Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy Comes Up Short

Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy lost against Ascension Christian back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy Swamp Owls took a hard 78-59 fall against Ascension Christian. While losing is never fun, the Swamp Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while Ascension Christian are ranked 122nd).

Despite the loss, Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nathan Goodwin went 10 of 16 en route to 24 points and seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Goodwin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hovan Jasmine, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 17 points.

Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Ascension Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.
