Basketball Game Preview: Ridgemont Golden Gophers vs. Cardington-Lincoln Pirates

Ridgemont is 0-3 against Cardington-Lincoln since December of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Ridgemont Golden Gophers will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Cardington-Lincoln Pirates at 6:00 p.m.

Last Saturday, Ridgemont was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 41-37 to Cory-Rawson.

Kylie Shreve put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted 19 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Lauren Wingfield, who had six points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Ridgemont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Cardington-Lincoln, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They ended the year with a bang, routing Lucas 70-44 on Friday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-20.

Ridgemont better keep an eye on Abigail Hardwick. She was instrumental in Cardington-Lincoln's win, putting up 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinstin Henthorn, who put up 15 points.

Cardington-Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Ridgemont, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
