The Stephenson Jaguars had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 goals), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They won by a goal and slipped past Stockbridge 3-2. The score was all tied up 2-2 at the break, but Stephenson was the better team in the second half.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Abby Fraser and
Karissa Smith, who scored all three of Stephenson's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 12 so far this season.
Stephenson's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Stockbridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Stephenson will head out on the road to challenge Cedar Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Stockbridge, they will take on Drew at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
