The Wolfson Wolfpack will face off against the Baldwin Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Wolfson's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last seven matches.
Wolfson's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Stanton 10-0. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by ten runs or more this season.
Madison Saling made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Saling was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Hannah Roberts was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Dylan Hetrick was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Wolfson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Baldwin gave up the first runs last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Nease by a score of 6-1.
The team relied heavily on Raven Watson, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Izabella Screws, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Baldwin is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Wolfson, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both Wolfson and Baldwin just can't seem to miss. The Wolfpack have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Baldwin struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wolfson might still be hurting after the 17-1 loss they got from Baldwin in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Can the Wolfpack avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
