On Friday, Soroco came up short against DSST: Cedar and fell 54-46.
Despite the loss, Soroco had strong showings from Kolbie Pierce, who scored 16 points, and CeCe Gregory, who scored nine points. Pierce continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Katelyn Fortune continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for DSST: Cedar, scoring 18 points along with four steals. Fortune is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Aminata Ndiaye, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Soroco has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for DSST: Cedar, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Soroco will head out on the road to take on Hayden at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Soroco is ranked 266th, while Hayden is ranked 267th). As for DSST: Cedar, they will head out on the road to face off against Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. DSST: Cedar is facing Lincoln at the right time seeing as Lincoln is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
