The Caro Tigers entered their tilt with the Almont Raiders with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. The stars were shining brightly for Caro in a 39-22 victory over Almont on Thursday. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Caro has scored all season.
Caro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaileigh Garza led the charge by scoring 11 points along with four steals. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Normandy Geiger, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Caro's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Almont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Caro will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Vassar at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Hopefully Vassar focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 last Thursday. Almont will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Richmond at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
