Softball Recap: Plant Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Plant never got on the board in their matchup last Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Robinson on Tuesday. They walked away with a 13-9 victory over the Knights. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won four in a row.

Kate Compton and Anabel Ramirez did most of the damage at the plate: Compton scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Ramirez scored three runs while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave Ramirez a new career-high. Alexis Richards also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Plant hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive matchups.

Plant's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Robinson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Plant will square off against Durant at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Robinson, they will face off against Tampa Bay Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 15.2 runs per game this season.
