The matchup between the Tarpon Springs Spongers and the Osceola Warriors on Friday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. When it comes to explaining why Tarpon Springs lost, one person who can't be blamed is Geramyah Porter. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with five assists and four steals. Porter is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerby Liberal, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.
Leading Osceola to victory were Eleven Williams and Talon Brooks. Williams scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, while Brooks scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Brooks hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Hayden Hundt, who scored 11 points.
Tarpon Springs' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Osceola, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tarpon Springs and Palm Harbor University will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Palm Harbor University is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Osceola, Osceola and Boca Ciega will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Boca Ciega is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64.6 points per game.
