After two games on the road, Youngker is heading back home. They will take on the Copper Canyon Aztecs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Wednesday, Youngker came up short against Washington and fell 52-43.
Youngker's loss came about despite a quality game from Xavier Hargrove, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Hargrove is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taijh Riley, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Copper Canyon pushed their score all the way to 66 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Independence. Copper Canyon has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Youngker has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Copper Canyon, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-12.
Youngker came out on top in a nail-biter against Copper Canyon in their previous meeting on January 9th, sneaking past 55-52. Will Youngker repeat their success, or does Copper Canyon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
