Crescenta Valley has gone a perfect 10-0 against Hoover recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Falcons will take on the Tornados at 3:45 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Crescenta Valley can't be too worried about heading out to take on Hoover: they just beat Mark Keppel at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Falcons were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Aztecs on Monday. The win was familiar territory for the Falcons, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Chloe Mulcahey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Alexa Johnson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Hannah Wyroski also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Johnson wasn't the only one making solid contact: Crescenta Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Hoover won against Immaculate Heart on Thursday with 23 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Tornados put the hurt on St. Mary's Academy with a sharp 23-12 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tornados.
Evelyn Ortiz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off one hit. Ortiz was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Bianca Parker was a standout: she got on base in four of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Sophia Hernandez, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Crescenta Valley's record now sits at 9-4. As for Hoover, their record is now 12-5.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Crescenta Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. However, it's not like Hoover struggles in that department as they've averaged .331. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Crescenta Valley took their win against Hoover in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
