With a playoff win on the line, Bellows Falls rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Randolph Ghosts 16-4. Considering the Terriers have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Izzy Stoodley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.
In other batting news, Bellows Falls got a massive performance out of Grace Hayes, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Hayes is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brielle Mulverhill, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
The win was the third in a row for Bellows Falls, bringing their record up to 13-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Randolph, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
As of now, neither Bellows Falls nor the Ghosts have any future games scheduled.
