Cortez waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks 67-41. The Colts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 26 points or more this season.

Cortez's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nygel Lindsey, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 boards. Those 17 rebounds gave Lindsey a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassius Henderson, who went 6 of 10 en route to 15 points.

Cortez smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Several Golden Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ky'Jaun Mccutcheon, who posted 14 points. That was a full 34.1% of Desert Sunrise's points, marking the 13th time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. Savieon Terry was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Cortez's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.9 points per game. As for Desert Sunrise, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cortez has already played their next matchup (against Washington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Desert Sunrise has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Tempe.
