Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rains). They put the hurt on the Sam Rayburn Rebels with a sharp 11-3 win on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Hunter Chandler and Cash Jenkins did most of the damage at the plate: Chandler went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Jenkins went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Those runs marked the first that Chandler has scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Canaan Briggs, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

Rains always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .696. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sam Rayburn only posted an OBP of .500.

Rains' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Sam Rayburn, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Coming up, Rains will take on Canton in a tournament on Friday. As for Sam Rayburn, they will be playing at home against Honey Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight.
