Palmer is a perfect 3-0 against Redington since May of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Moose will look to defend their home field against the Huskies at 5:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Palmer's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Redington has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Palmer is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Houston, who was ranked 17th at the time (Palmer was ranked 12th). The Moose narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Hawks 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Moose have posted against the Hawks since April 15, 2022.

Laekyn Leroux made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, Olivia Del Bianco and Lizzy McQuillin did most of the damage at the plate: Del Bianco went 2-for-3 with one home run and one triple, while McQuillin went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave McQuillin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rylei Doyle, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Redington and Homer meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Huskies might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 14-6 to the Mariners, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Redington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashlynn Warner, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Warner has snagged this season.
Redington's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Palmer, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Everything went Palmer's way against Redington in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Palmer made off with a 12-4 victory. Do the Moose have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
