Basketball Game Preview: Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles vs. Sutton Mustangs

The Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles will take on the Sutton Mustangs in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Bruning-Davenport/Shickley strolled past Lawrence-Nelson with points to spare, taking the game 48-33.

Bruning-Davenport/Shickley's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Lexie Johnson, who went 6 of 10 en route to 17 points and six rebounds, and Campbell Bohling, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Johnson is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Olivia Schlegel, who posted five points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sutton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They claimed a resounding 65-24 win over Heartland. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-11.

Sutton's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27 points. As for Bruning-Davenport/Shickley, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
