Basketball Recap: Philip Simmons Piles Up the Points Against Lake City

With a playoff win on the line, Philip Simmons rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They blew past the Lake City Panthers, posting a 69-34 win. The Iron Horses have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 21 points or more this season.

Philip Simmons was led to victory by Corbin Driggers and Hudson Hatch. Driggers went 5-for-9 en route to 15 points and six steals, while Hatch went 7-for-8 on his way to 18 points and five boards. That's the most points Driggers has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gannon Barton, who scored seven points.

Philip Simmons has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points over those games. As for Lake City, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Coming up, Philip Simmons will be playing in front of their home fans against Mullins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
